Britt, I just wanted to tell you how much I loved your autobiographical poem! As I said in class, I can definitely relate to your situation as I have watched my mom face many of the same struggles. It's so hard to watch people that you hold in such high esteem work SO hard their entire lives and yet somehow always seem to get the "short end of the stick". I actually thought about writing a similar poem but honestly, knowing we would have to read it aloud, did not have the courage to do so. Good for you for reading yours!! You go girl :)
